I worked as an assistant cinematograph er in director Arivazhagan’s Eeram. It w as only after that that I started working as a cinematographer. After watching m y first film “Mahamuni”, Arivazhagan sir made me the cinematographer for this fi lm. I am grateful to him for that. This fil m is the most important film I have ever had in my life. It is difficult to recreate a film like this. We have worked hard as a team for this film. Starting from Hero s ir, the entire crew has given their full co operation in this film. It was a great ple asure to travel with this team.

The reason I am standing on this stage is because of the opportunity given to me by director Arivazhagan to edit the trail er of Eeram 15 years ago. After that, Val linam, from there, life has brought me h ere. Now, the sound, for this film, is like playing cricket at home ground. I had Pr roduced by 7G Siva under the banner of 7G Films, after the huge success of Eera m, director Arivazhagan and actor Aadh hi have teamed up to produce the film “S apdham”. freedom to work creatively. A rivazhagan has added a lot of small deta ils to it. We have given a lot of importan nce to the sound, it will definitely be a di fferent experience for the fans. Hero Aa dhi is my friend, I can talk to him about a nything, he has acted wonderfully in this film. All the technicians have worked ve ry hard. This film will please everyone.

I have worked in all the films except Ariv azhagan’s Eeram, I had the regret that E eram did not work, which has been rem oved in this film. Usually when directors tell stories, they say that they have two scenes for sound, but this film is entirely with sound. It is rare for us to get a film li ke this. I am very happy to get this film. My mentor Deepan Chakravarthy sir, w ho has done all the Oomai Vizhigal films, this film will give the feeling of a Oomai Vizhigal film. How will that film be if it c omes in this trend? It will be like that. O nly a few directors in Tamil make techni cal films, and Arivazhagan is very impor tant in it. The technicians gave importa nce to sound and gave great cooperatio n. Thaman’s music will be a huge streng th. Aadhi has acted wonderfully. This film will be a new experience for the fans.

After a long break, my film is coming to t heaters. Just like the innovation in Eera m with water, there were many challeng es when it came to adding sound to the ilm. Eeram is a technically acclaimed fil m till now. When it comes to horror in w ater, it was very easy to show the image of the spirit. But how to show the ghost with sound was a challenge while writin g the story. We planned to bring that qu ality to the screen, as the Dolby sound p romo will not come in the theater with sound. 7G Films’ 7G Siva was very supp ortive of the film, when the budget of th is film was big, he understood the techni calities of this film and stood fully behin nd the film. Since they were already in di stribution, he had a complete unstandin g of the film. He said to pay all the expen ses required by the film. It is because of him that this film has come with this lev bel of quality. I thank him. Also, my tech nicians were very helpful. Audiographer Udayakumar has been working with me for a long time. Editor Sabu, cinematogr apher Arun, and music composer Tham an have all worked together to maken th is film. What is the difference between this film and other horror films? There a re many genres in horror, and I believe t hat everything should have a reason. Ju st like Eeram took you through an expe rience, this film will be a very different experience. The cinematographer said that we can use blue tone in this film, it will be very different. Sabu Joseph has also done a lot of innovations in this fil m. Apart from my view in the film, I will see how his view is, he has worked hard on it. Thanks to him. Viveka has worked in all my films, and the songs in this film will be good too. Art director Manoj has set up a very different set. Sound Udaya kumar sir has done many innovations. H e has done many big films. We discussed a lot about where sound is needed in th is film and where it is not needed. He ha s done it very well. Adi sir and I have bee n talking about working for a long time, he said that we can do this film as soon as the story is told, I have done the film in the first copy under his production, I have bothered Thaman a lot, but after overcoming all that, when he came to t he background music, it was amazing. S omeone has to believe in the story we th ought and come in, that is what makes m e comfortable, Adi trusted me and came in. This film will be a very different horr or experience. I believe that my honesty has brought me here, this film will be a film that everyone will like, thank you.

This stage is very important. When I tell my friends about this film “Shaptham”, they ask why it is horror, when you say horror, there is a little downward view, then I say that Eram is also horror, they praise it that Eram will be super. They p raise it that it will be different in horror, that is Arivazhagan sir, will there be an other film like Eram directed by him? I h ave been thinking that Arivazhagan has given me that again. I have played a par anormal investigator in this film, this is entirely the film of this team, the entire film is their hard work. We often say th at it is like a Hollywood film, but here, the film that has made our cinema at a level beyond Hollywood is Shabdham. You will definitely like it, thank you.
