Chennai’s Kevin Gabriel and Soulmate Win Silver at Junior National
Championships 2024, Help Team Secure Historic Gold
Chennai, January 4, 2025: The young rid ers from Chennai Equitation Centre hav ve returned from the Junior National Ch ampionships 2024 in New Delhi with a h istoric 18 medals, setting an all-time rec ord for the team. This victory marks a la ndmark achievement for the Chennai-b ased equestrian academy, which has con sistently placed at the top in Dressage c ompetitions.In the Children 2 (10-12 ye ars) category, Kevin Gabriel, riding his h orse Soulmate (competition name: Sech hs Richtige), played a key role in securin g the team’s gold in Children- 2 category . Kevin also earned an individual silver m edal, while teammate Eshan Sundaram c laimed Gold with his black mare, Fame o f Viberty. The team also featured Punav Suresh on Grandduke and Hasini B from Coimbatore. Miraya Dhadabhoy with he r horse Knock-out claimed the team gol d alongside Sankara Rathore with FT in the Junior category.

Kevin Gabriel, who began riding at the a ge of 10, has already established an imp ressive track record. In 2022, he won his first national competition and was hono red with the Best Youngest Rider award. Under the mentorship of Isabelle at the Chennai Equitation Centre, Kevin earne ed an individual Silver medal and contri buted to the team’s historic Gold at the Junior National Championships. To date, Kevin has won 21 medals and 3 trophies and remains committed to reaching new milestones in his equestrian career.Che nnai Equitation Centre, known for its w orld-class training facilities and experin ced instructors, has been a nurturing gr ound for equestrian talent in India. Over the years, it has consistently produced t op riders who have represented the cou ntry at both national and international ompetitions.

The centre has some of the best facilities in the country including a covered all weather arena (2 0x60 meters) stabling for 60 horses & p onies, a competition size sand arena, pra ctice dressage arena and lunging arenas as well as accommodation.
