PAX CHENNAI 2024 BRINGS TOGETHE R ANIME FANS AT PHOENIX MARKET CITY.
Chennai, 24 December 2024: Phoenix Marketcity and Palladium Chennai host ed the inaugural edition of PAX INDIA – PAX CHENNAI 2024 .
The biggest Anime and Cosplay Festival of the year. Musical performances, quizz es and Cosplay events marked the two-d ay event which transformed the atrium i nto a stage zone. Organised by AniSync – India’s largest platform for official Ani me Merchandise – PAX CHENNAI 2024 had official Anime merchandise and IP, special industry panels and a massive Co splay festival.
PAX CHENNAI 2024 had six different z ones – Stage Zone, Gaming Zone, Cultur re Zone, Movie Zone, Workshop Zone, a nd the Dungeons & Dragons Zone – and the Anime and Cosplay communities in Chennai had a blast.
The Stage Zone featured a special indus try panel on the Japanese to Tamil dubbi ng process of the hit anime of the seaso n, Dandadan by Sai Sujith (Okarun), Rith ik (Writer) and Akshaya (Momo). The Co splay Ramp Walk and Contests featured a prize pool of over ₹1,00,000, with spe cial music performances by music band Dot Wav led by Sundheep. The Anime Q uiz was conducted by popular quizmast er Abhideep AKA Dipsydoodles, the Ch ennai Secretary of the Asia Culture Clu b.
The Gaming Zone featured the Indian Fi ghting Game Community, board gaming cafes Zolives and The Board Room, Raci ing Wheels by Logitech and AMD PC Bui ld Masters. A special appearance was m ade by Steven Medway, the creator of th e hit social game Blood on the Clock To wer.
The Culture Zone featured Japanese Ga mes by the Asia Culture Club, Bento Sho wcases by Lakshmi Ravikumar, Origami Showcases by ArtbyBala, a Voice Synthe siser by India 39 and the Tea Meditation Workshop by Yashi’s Tea Tavern.
The Movie Zone at PVR INOX Pictures L UXE featured a retrospective poster dis play of all Anime films released in Chenn ai in 2024, created by the various Anime communities in India led by the Chennai Anime Club. Ravan Forge exhibited ani matronics and cosplay displays, while t he Chennai Anime Club hosted a Cospla y Prop Shelf available to the public for p hotography.
The D&D Zone featured expert worksho ps from all over India. Arvindh Sundar a nd Sashank Bhat, expert Dungeon Mast ers from Bengaluru, conducted a series of sessions, workshops and seminars, ho sted by Arjun of the Chennai Anime Clu b, featuring local Dungeon Masters Tha ra, Kevin, Gokul, Eshwar.
The Workshop Zone featured 4 expert c osplay workshops by invited cosplayers – FOAM COSPLAY WORKSHOP by REA PERSAM AKA Sameer Shaikh from Mu mbai, STITCHING WORKSHOP by PUR PLEPAW AKA Tejal Mulik from Mumbai, MAKEUP WORKSHOP by KIKU ARTS & KRAFTS AKA Ankita Kemkar from Beng aluru and PAINTING AND VFX WORKS SHOP by REDEMPTION PROPS AKA R ohit Kailashiya from Bengaluru .
There was also a Manga Workshop host ed by Ananth Maruthi and G8 o f Studio Kapi, veterans of Indian manga publishi ng. The mascot for the event, Hino Apex, with a Phoenix motif, was designed by S tudio Kapi. Hino was seen in various ava tars throughout the venue, including at the Mini Stage Powered By Ibaco, wher e community events were conducted by Community Partners Chennai Anime Cl Club, Asia Culture Club, Zolives, Indian Fighting Game Community, SSBIndia, Ot aku Nadu, Coimbatore.
