Movie Review-
35 Chinna Vishyam Illa directed by Nan da Kishore Emani, is a slow-burn, heart felt family drama that highlights the pre ssures children face within the educatio n system and the crucial role parents pla y in guiding them. Nivetha Thomas, as S araswati (aka Chinnu), delivers a stellar performance as a loving, determined mo ther who stops at nothing to help her so n succeed. She truly inhabits the charact er, with her nuanced portrayal, standing out as the film’s strongest element.
Debutant director Nanda Kishore’s sim ple yet effective screenplay captures th e beauty of middle-class life in a small to wn. Vivek Sagar’s warm music, combine d with Niketh Bommireddy’s artistic cin ematography, adds a soft yet vibrant hu e that captivates the viewer. The film is filled with nuanced and heartwarmingm oments, with dialogues between husba nd and wife, parents and children, teac chers and students, and among children themselves. These moments evoke emo tions and a sense of nostalgia much like the Hindi hit film, Taare Zameen Par.
The entire cast, including Vishwadev Ra chakonda as Prasad, Priyadarshi Puliko nda as Chanakya Varma, Gautami Tadim alla as Sarada, Arundev Pothula as Arun, Abhay Shankar Duvvuri as Varun, Anan ya Madgula as Kiranmayi, Krishna Teja a s DPR Murthy, and K Bhagyaraj as the pr incipal, deliver honest and commendabl le performances.
While the narrative is a treat for the sen ses, invoking warmth and drama, the fil m takes its time to unfold, particularly in the second half. This slower pace may te st the patience of some viewers. Howev er, the relatable themes, heartfelt perfo rmances, and meaningful message make it worth watching, especially for those s eeking something beyond commercial ci nema.
