Chennai, 8th November 2024 — Samart hanam Trust for the Disabled proudly in augurated the Samarthanam Art Centre , a ground-breaking, fully accessible ib le and inclusive facility dedicated to nurtu ring and showcasing the artistic  talents of individuals with disabilities.   

Located in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, the centre was inaugurated with much fan fare, with renowned playback singer  Ku nal Ganjawala as the celebrity guest.

The event was graced by distinguished g uests, including Mr. Sanjay Singh, CEO  a nd Head of Territory, BNP Paribas India, as Chief Guest, and Ms. Jayashri Balkris hna, General Manager of General Insura nce Corporation of India, as Guest of Ho nour. Other corporate leaders in  attend ance included Mr. Aveek Sinha, CFO of J LL India; Mr. Nagabush ana Reddy, Finan ce Controller at Ther mo Fisher Scientif ic; and Mr. Ravi Kum ar, Senior Vice Pres ident at NTT Data I nformation Processi ng Services Pvt Lt d. Their presence und erscored the cen tre’s commitment to in clusivity and su pport for artists with dis abilities.

Spanning over 32,000 square feet, this transformative facility stands as a test ament to Samarthanam’s dedication to empowering artists with disabilities.

The Samarthanam Art Centre features:

• An accessible auditorium designed for performances, complete with ramps, sp ecialized lifts, and seating arrangement s catering to artists with mobility challe nges.
• Dedicated spaces for training, therap y, and creative development, providing a nurturing environment for artis ts to ho ne their skills.
• The Samarthanam Institute of Music & Performing Arts (SIMPA), which offers p rograms in collaboration with Karnata ka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Universit t y of Music and Performing Arts (KSGH).

With a 337-seat acoustic auditorium, a dvanced stage lighting, cyclorama scre en, and inclusive design, the Samartha nam Art Centre is set to become a hub for artistic expression, talent developm ent, and performances by individuals wi th disabilities across India.
