Jasper, a shadowy grandfather, lives in seclusion after his wife is killed. Years later, a young man from a family li ving in a nearby house is abducted and returns to the fray. Why is that? What happens after that? Jasper is the movie that says that.CM Pala plays the modern day Jasper and Vivek Rajagopal plays the young Jasper. Both of them show passion in their body language and fit the role. A disease in his body makes him Superman. It is also a strength of the screenplay.Aishwaryadatta’s role is good. His death comes as a shock. Lavanya, who plays Jas p er’s daughter-in-law, also breaks down in tears after realizing the role.In Manikandaraja’s cinematography, the scenes follow the story and support the director.Music composed by Kumaransivamani. Drums is the son of Siv amani. Realizing that this story needs a lot of background music, he has composed the music.
D.Yuvaraj, who has written and directed the film, has shown the tendency to move the film briskly.CM Pala and Vivek Rajagopal have given the rest of the success by playing those roles well. The hero Vivek Rajagopal, his wife Lavanya and Pillai move into a rented house with their family. Jasper, the boss of the house, is always drunk. Mea nwhile, bank manager Vivek is asked by a gang to hand over 100 crores of black money. The gang kidnaps him an d cuts off his fingers one by one. Lavanya asks Jasper to save her husband, and Jasper steps in to help her, and do es Jasper save Vivek? Isn’t it? It is the story that tells that in a lively and suspenseful way. Vivek Rajagopal, who pl ays the dual roles of the young Jasper and his son, conveys the two emotions of action and calm very naturally. H e impresses in the action scenes as the young Jasper, and is disturbingly innocent as Jasper’s son Haris. CM Bala, who plays the elderly Jasper, is a menacing six feet tall action figure and is a perfect choice for the role.
Lavanya, who is playing the heroine, has done her job flawlessly. Aishwarya Dutta, who plays the other heroine, impresses with a measured performance.Most of the actors in the film who play the villain, Jasper’s friends, are new faces but have done their job well. Famous drummer Sivamani’s son Kumaran Sivamani has made his debut as a music director through this film. Let’s hope that Kumaran Sivamani, who has composed the music to suit the story, will definitely leave his name in the minds of the people if he gets a chance to stand out. Manikandaraja’s ci nematography has traveled to the story and beautifully showcased the characters’ similarities and differences in their youth and adulthood. Written and directed by Yuvraj T, the usual action story takes a different rou te. Who is the villain who kidnapped hero Vivek? What will be the feud between him and Jasper? etc. creates expecta tio ns for the film, but the cause is not compelling and the film becomes boring at some points. The biggest downside to the film is that the scenes don’t live up to the big build-up of Jasper, who commits many murders throughout t he film. All in all, ‘Jasper’ is a budget gangster
