There’s also a gang of four goons who are inside the bungalow, along with a few ghosts. Was Smitha rescued safely from the evil forces is what Idiot is about. Rasu and his son Chinnarasu live in a small village, Veerapandiyan. Rasu is the village head. Smitha is a psychiatrist whose ances tors grabbed properties from a royal family. In an accident, Chinnarasu loses his mental stability and is taken to Smitha’s hospital. Soon, Chinnarasu falls for Smitha. Meanwhile, Neelakandi, a witch, searches for Smitha to kill her as she wants to revive her lover. Soon, they all land in a Zameen land, where they witness bizarre incidents. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Movie Review-;
The film begins as a period drama, with two minions, Sethupathi and Senathipathi, betraying a royal family. We witness Chinnarasu (Shiva) and his family, who live in the village of Veerapandiyan, in a matter of minutes. Due of his ignorance, Chinnarasu frequently refers to his father Rasu Gounder (Anandaraj) as a fool. Smitha (Nikki Galrani), a doctor who oversees a psychiatric hospital, is then presented. Later on, we learn that Chinnarasu and Smitha are Sethupathi and Senathipathi’s descendants. Unbelievable scenes reunite them, and we witness a gho stly reunion at Zameen’s mansion. From there, it’s a frantic ride that’s neither hilarious nor compelling. Director Rambhala, who is known to have delivered some comedies that actually worked before, fails miserably in his mis sion to entertain the masses with his ‘Idiot’.
The Tamil film has a wafer-thin story, if one can even call it that, and a truckload of poor jokes that are so horribly bad, that forget laughter, one can’t even manage a smile by the time the film ends.Some of the so-called “funny” dialogues in the film are either absolutely annoying or dangerously close to being termed obscene.Another char acter, Neelakandi (Aksharaa Gowda), is introduced, who wishes to steal Smitha’s life in order to resurrect her bo yfriend. Neelakandi’s flashback is included after the intermission, although it adds little value to the plot. The re st of the plot revolves around whether or not Neelakandi succeeds in her quest. Members of a royal family are murdered by two generals, who then usurp their wealth.
The spirits of the dead royal family members haunt the place, looking to take revenge.The story then cuts across to a different time period. Here, we are introduced to Raasu Gounder (Anandaraj), a money-minded landlord wh o is basically an idiot, and his wife Parimalam (Urvashi).Rambhala’s horror comedy is a satire from the start, refe rencing scenes from films like Suriyavamsam, Ghilli, Endhiran, and even the vikram teaser. Though the concept appears to be sound, the majority of the one-liners fall flat, and some of them are also outdated. The parts in whi ch shiva portrays a mentally ill person are imaginative for a protagonist, but they don’t enhance the movie as a whole. Their son, Chinnarasu (Mirchi Shiva), is a harsh critic of his dad.
To cut a long story short, Chinnarasu walks out of his home after a fight, loses his mental balance after suffering a blow to his head and is admitted to a mental hospital in which Smitha (Nikki Galrani) is a doctor.The hospital ha s a bunch of weird characters, including a sorceress called Neelakandi (Akshara Gowda), and a funny patient cal led Burfi (Redin Kingsley). This apart, there is a gang of kidnappers headed by Thiru Don Sekar (Ravi Maria), whic h is looking to kidnap Smitha and demand a ransom for her. Do the spirits get their revenge? Do the kidnappers manage to kidnap Smitha? Does the sorceress succeed in her mission? Will Chinnarasu become normal again? ‘Idiot’ is actually neither engaging nor entertaining.
When a film’s high on good humour, audiences might be willing to forgive a flimsy story. Sadly for ‘Idiot’, neither its story, nor its jokes seem to work. On the contrary, they only annoy.Despite this, we hope for at least one sens ible figure who contributes to the greater good. This could be Rambhala’s goal as well, to create a world full of ‘idiots.’ However, we are surrounded with disappointment. Even ghosts are objectified at one point, and offen si ve jokes are cracked here and there. shiva, as usual, plays his part subtly and does his hardest to elicit laughs fr om the crowd. However, given the scenario, he has no room to shine. nikki galrani and Urvashi, who plays Anan daraj’s spouse, give strong performances that keep the picture enjoyable. Redin Kingsley as Burfi and Mirchi Shi va as Chinnarasu try to salvage the situation, cracking an occasional joke, but sadly, their efforts fall miserably sh ort and the film comes across as a drag.Vikram Selva’s music and Raja Bhattacharjee’s cinematography are just about okay. Despite having a big star cast, ‘Idiot’ fails to impress.
