Movie Review-;
Director S R Prabhakaran is a master of suspense. Just like how he kept audiences guessing in ‘Sundarapandian’, he has them wondering in the case of this film as to who is responsible for igniting the caste clashes erupting in the village. Kombu Vatcha Singamda’ is about a group of six good-natured friends who have grown up together. They set themselves upon the noble task of stamping out caste from their village.These friends, however, are ev entually manipulated into turning upon one another by those intending to keep the caste system intact. How the friends find out they are being manipulated and stop a series of revenge killings from occurring is what the film is all about.Madonna Sebastian, who has until now predominantly done only roles that showcase her moder n side, transforms herself beautifully into this rural girl who completely blends into this gripping drama .
Her expression s, attire and body language are all perfect. In the scene in which she poses a question to her dad to help Sasikuma r find out if her dad indeed is behind the caste clashes in the village, Madonna is outstanding From deceit to mani pulation, the film shows every dark shade that the human mind can think of and shines the light on how people play games to further their own causes. She poses the question in a very soft but serious to ne. The question is polite but pointed. And the manner in which she carries herself in that scene is commenda ble.To the average viewer, this film comes across as the ideal entertainer. It has family sentiments, romance, crime and action. It is a complete and wholesome entertainer.
Director Mahendran, who recently passed away, delivers yet another fantastic performance, as does Hareesh Peradi, who plays Madonna’s dad. Soori’s comedy works big time. The actor is in his elements and provides the film some much-needed humour occasionally.To those with an analytical mind, this film is bound to come across as much more than just a wholesome family entertainer. For, it is bound to offer a better understanding of huma n relationships and their fragile and inconsistent nature.Just about every actor in this film delivered primarily be cause the casting is just perfect. The lead pair in particular, is outstanding. On the technical front, Ekambara m’s shots are a delight to watch. His visuals are a feast to the eyes. All in all, ‘Kombu Vatcha Singamda’ is a film that provides wholesome entertainment.
Sasikumar, who is known for his rural entertainers, relishes this role and excels in the film. All in all, ‘Kombu Vatcha Singam da’ is a film that provides wholesome entertainment. Sasikumar, who played the protagonist, is acting in his usual style. Looks like artificial acting in romantic scenes. Madonna Sebastian, who played the heroine, did not have a big job. The song has only come and gone in the scenes. The film is directed by SR Prabhakaran, who directed ‘Su ndarapandian’, ‘Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal’ and ‘Chhatriyan’. He is directing the film with the features of a comme rcial film. But, it did not attract big fans .NK Ekambaram cinematography adds strength to the film. Thibu Ninan is able to enjoy the songs to some extent in Thomas music.
