ELECTION OFFICER REPORT

By virtue of invitation from Mr.T. Siva and Mr.G. Dhananjayan, founding members of TFAPA, I had assumed respo nsibility as Election Officer for the election of Office bearers and Executive committee for TFAPA in the Annual General Body (GB) meeting held on 28.8.2020 via virtual Zoom meeting. Whereas once the General Body was in motion, I took the floor and informed the members present that for the period of 2020 to 2022 election of Office Bearers and Executive committee to be conducted as per the bye-laws of TFAPA.

I had informed the members that according to bye-law No.28, Online meetings and programs were authorized and hence the present online Zoom meeting was a valid one and fit to conduct the election proceedings. And I had also informed them that the said meeting was also authorized to be recorded in order to present to any needy members and also for statutory and mandatory filings in Registrar of Societies, Chennai.

And I informed the gathering that eligibility for attending the GB meeting as per bye-law No. 1 (e) had been met with and hence Eligible Primary members had been invited to the GB herein. As per records, eligible 50 primary members were enrolled thus far had been invited. And read with bye-law No.1 (e), Primary Members were empowered to vote in such meetings and elections.

And I also informed the gathering that required Quorum of 25% of primary members to be present as prescribed in bye-law No.43 had been met with as members present had exceeded beyond 38 members (more than 25% of total 50 members) and the election process was set to go. I advised the gathering that as per bye-law no.14, the GB had to vote and elect a Governing body of 7 office bearers (the detailed category mentioned here under) and management/ executive committee of 12 members.

The category wise office bearers were:
a) President -. 1 post
b) General Secretary – 1 post
C) Vice Presidents – 2 posts
d) Treasurer – 1 post
e) Joint Secretaries – 2 posts

Whereas I had informed the members present that founding members of the association namely Mr. Bharathiraja, Mr. T.G. Thyagarajan, M. T. Siva, Mr. G. Dhananjayan, Mr. S.R. Prabhu, Mr.S.S. Lalit Kumar and Mr. Suresh Kamatchi had volunteered to be contestants for each of above respective office-bearers post as mentioned hereunder. After verifying the qualifications norms set out in bye law no.15, found to be satisfactory for the contestants herein, I had announced the following contestants for election of Office bearers.

1. President – Mr. P. Bharathirajaa
2. General Secretary – Mr. T. Siva
3. Vice Presidents – (1) Mr. G. Dhananjayan (2) Mr. S.R. Prabhu
4. Treasurer – Mr.T.G. Thyagarajan
5. Joint Secretaries – 1) Mr.S.S. Lalit Kumar (2) Mr. Suresh Kamatchi.

And I asked the gathering that if any of the members present opted and desired to contest against the above mentioned contestants for respective posts could come forward and announce the same. But the members present unanimously announced and informed me that they were not willing to contest and thereby approving the contestants as elected unopposed. As there were no more contestants against the same I had announced the election of Office bearers unanimously as detailed above for the period of two years from August 29, 2020 to August 28, 2022 and the same was approved by the GB.

And I had initiated the process of election to the executive committee comprising 12 members. Till then no contestants had been announced I had asked the members present to come forward to announce the names those wish to contest. And whereas, the following 12 members only volunteered and opted to contest for the said election of executive committee and the names with their Production company names were:

4. Mr. Rajsekara Karpoorasundarapandian (2D Entertainment)
5. Mr.G. Dilli Babu (Axcess Film Factory)
6. Mr. Kaarthekeyan Santhanam (Stone Bench Productions)
7. Mr. R. Kannan (Masala Pix)
8. Mr. Sudhan Sundaram (Passion Studios)
9. Mr. Vijay Raghavendra (All in Pictures)
10. Mr.I.B. Karthikeyan (Big Print Pictures)
11. Mr. Nitin Sathyaa (Shveth Group)
12. Mr. P.G. Muthiah (P.G. Media Works)

As the contestants opted for were exact to the required 12 members only and as there were no more contestants exceeding the limit, I had announced the election of the said 12 members unanimously to the executive committee of TFAPA for the period 2020 to 2022. And the same was approved by the GB. With the process of election thus completed in full and satisfactorily completing the execution of election officer work by me, as per the bye laws of TFAPA, I had opted out of the meeting of GB, leaving to the newly elected office bearers and committee to transact any business thereafter.
