Movie Review -;

August 16 1947 is a film directed by Ponkumar starring actor Gautham Karthik. It is centered around the events that happened during the independence period and what happened to the villagers even though they did not get freedom. In this film, he played a famous role. Also many actors think that they are living in that period and live t here. It is seen while watching the film.Sengadu village is located near Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu. The who le village is occupied by the white man Robert. He harasses the people and takes 16-hour work to pick cotton. Th e white man Robert Richard’s son brings the goal of destroying all the women in the village.

In this situation, the landlord is his daughter. Richard says that he will die at a young age so as not to fall in sight of Richard, but the zamindar’s daughter wants to reach him as soon as Richard falls in his eyes, Richard buries hi m alive to protect his daughter from him. In this situation, Gautham Karthik, who has been in love with the zam indar’s daughter since childhood, saves him from there. What happens after this is the story of the film. August 16 1947 movie directed by Ponkumar and produced by AR Murugadoss has released today. Starring Gautham K arthik, Prema, Revathi and many others, the film clearly shows the life of the people during the independence p eriod.

Here we will see the full review of the movie which has attracted the fans. The people of Sengadu, a hill village n ear Tirunelveli, are engaged in making yarn from cotton. The British officer who keeps them under his control by hiring them all for hours hides the independence of India from the people. His son is a cruel man who wants to g et all the girls he sees. He also wants to reach the zamin woman who is loyal to them. Gautham Karthik, who sa ves the girl from that, stands against the English officer. The story of the film is about what happened in the end, did the people of that village get freedom.

Even though he is a debutant director, Ponkumar surprises everyone by showing the pre-independence era. Alt hough we have seen many movies about the independence period, the reality shown in this one is definitely wo rth appreciating. Apart from this, Gautham Karthik, who comes as Paraman, has given a menacing performance. There is no doubt that this film will be a landmark for him. Next to him is Vijay of TV fame. So far in the films he has acted in, he has done something called comedy. But in this film, he left it all aside and made us wonder in the role of character. After that, the newbie actress Revathi has also done her part well.

The fact that all the characters are well chosen is an added strength of the film. Similarly, the background music is enjoyable. But a little more focus on the songs would have been better. Apart from that, the director has slip p ed a bit in giving the fans an expectation that when the people will know about the freedom. So, the overall lively screen story and the characters united with the story make the film stand up. In that sense, the film is definitely a must-see. The main story of the film is that the people of Sengadu do not know about getting freedom, if the dire ctor had made a screenplay around it, the film would have been better.

Gautham, who falls in love with the zamindar’s daughter, Revathi, has shown his excellent performance in the p h ase of not finding a girlfriend and opposing the whites. He played a character role for the first time and receive d popular applause.
